Help your local economy

This post is a letter from Muck-A-Luck Crafts. I’m posting it oon all my blogs with their permission.

YOU can help save our economy. How?

Pledge to buy only USA made items for Christmas.

Why buy “Made in China” when our economy is suffering? That makes you part of the problem. I know, it’s not easy to find “Made in USA” products. In fact, it’s downright impossible, right?

Nope. You can find quality, handmade USA products at competitive prices. How? Where?

Your local craft show!

It’s really a no-brainer.

· Personalized, friendly attention.

· Knowledgeable – artisans know their product inside and out.

· Caring- they genuinely care about their product and genuinely want you to be satisfied. Repeat business is extremely important to them!

· You are getting a unique product, not a “cookie-cutter” product, mass produced in a factory.

· Competitive prices- ok, we aren’t the discount store, but you are getting a much better product than any discount store. Remember: you get the quality you pay for!

BOTTOM LINE: USA MADE, QUALITY ITEMS FROM TALENTED ARTISTS WHO ARE PROUD OF WHAT THEY DO!

Don’t have time or gas money to drive to your local show?

Stay home in your pjs and order online from this HUGE list of talented artisans.

So I think I can create!

A forest path to nowhere!

That is a lot of trees! These paintings are up for sale at my new etsy shop, www.spiralingelements.etsy.com.

I’m working on more paintins and will be adding photography soon.

Gearing back up for homeschool

I have been surfing the net for better ways to homeschool my children. We are a mix of unschooler/eclectic/waldorf inspired homeschoolers. I have tried out many different things and have found that a lot of it doesn’t really work for my kids or our lives.  I must admit that in the past I have let the pressure of family and friends influence our homeschooling.  Bad bad me! lol.  This summer I quit my job ( I lasted a whole year) to come back to being at home. The year of working really messed up our schooling. It was almost like my kids got a year off from school. This year we are back. I’m getting back to the things that I find important and finding new things that will work for my kids. We will be using some waldorf inspired learning styles and nature inspired learning.

I will be sharing with you reviews of everything we try out along with the normal craftiness you get here.  I’m also an independent consultant for Usborne books. My kids really enjoy the books that we get from there. You will be hearing about that too.

Another Blog For Me!

I have been trying to blog on blogger, but it won’t let me! lol. So instead of fighting with it and loosing posts, I’m moving to wordpress. This blog will be for posting all my craft stuff that doesn’t really go anywhere else. I’ll be posting some old projects first cuz I don’t have a camera at the moment for getting pics of my WIPS.
