I keep reading about stamped candles, so I thought I would give it a try. I ran a google search for directions and came with some sites (i don’t have the links, sorry) that had a few different tecniques. I didn’t take pics of all four of the ways I tried. Only one came out half way nice. lol.
To do this you need:
candle
tissue paper, I used toilet paper
inks
heat gun
Stamps, I used tac’s earth laughs in flowers
Ok I’m still living in the land of no ink, so I used my markers to color my stamps. I colored the stamp and then stamped it on to the t.p. Then I peeled apart the layers, so that I just had the top stamped layer. I placed it on the candle and then used the heat gun to melt the candle. Now if you are not careful your t.p. will blow away you can hold it down with something or put a little glue on it. Try to melt the candle evenly and slowly. As the wax melts it will soak into the t.p. This was the way that worked best for me. I also tried embossing the candle. I embossed t.p and straight on the the candle. Neither way came out as the embossing powder ran all over with the melted wax. I also tried stamping directly on to the stamp. My stamp made a good impression but the ink didn’t stick to the candle. I think it would have worked better to have stamped the image and the rubbed paint or something into the design. As you can see I also got my wording crooked. That was from the heat gun blowing the paper. lol. So take a good look at my candle and then do yours the right way! lol.
